There was fighting games, racing games and …wait, um Freddy Krueger Games? That’s right people; Freddy Krueger had his very own arcade pinball machine. So get ready to pull that handle and shoot your balls towards Freddy Krueger and….what the hell am I saying.....

Anyways Freddy: A Nightmare on Elm Street Pinball Machine was released in December 1987 by company called Gottlieb and theybrought back Actor Robert Englund as the voice of Freddy. Now Kids would get the chance to go head to head against their favorite movie slasher.
There was a giant Freddy head that set on top of the arcade machine that would talk to you as you triggered certain things by hitting them witch your pinballs.

With the ever growing popularity of the character it was inevitable that Freddy would appear in more video games, and in 1990 Freddy returned in his first home game console in A Nightmare on Elm Street on the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). Here Players After collecting all the bones your next objective was to destroy the bones in the furnace at the local high school. Freddy was your main boss fight that was triggered by collecting Bones and unlocking new areas. So if you have ever wondered what it was like to fight Freddy Krueger one on one in the comfort of your home you now had the chance.

After the NES game was released video game Freddy laid dormant for many years and not appearing in another video game until 2011 when he was made as a downloadable character in the fighting game Mortal Combat 9 (2011) he was easily the most popular and most downloaded character from that game, so much so that he was brought back once again on Mortal Combat X (2015) in these games you would play as the great slasher icon and fight other characters till the death. You would build up special moves that cause Freddy to slash his was through every opponent. The special thing about Mortal Combat X is that this was the first game to have more than one slasher icon and now Freddy would be joined by other loved slashers such as Jason, Leatherface and even a xenomorph from the Alien franchise. Now fans could live out their long loved dreams of VS battles.
If pitting horror icon against horror icon is your thing then look no further than the fan made fighting game available on the PC called Terrordrome. Here players could put their favorite horror icons in an all-out battle to see which slasher is the ultimate killer. Created by a fan this game is only available on PC as a free download due to copyright reasons and no official version has ever been released to home console.

Not only has Freddy appeared in video games but he was also part of board games where you would enter Freddy’s house, one player plays as Freddy and the other players have to try and figure out which player Freddy is. Make you way through Freddy’s house and figure out who Freddy is and win the game.
