More world firsts on Blu-ray this October Wednesday, September 14, 2016 – Barry Levinson’s The Natural headlines a diverse range of action, martial arts, and horror all out on high definition through Via Vision Entertainment October 5.
The Natural, starring Robert Redford, might be the most beloved baseball movie of all time. It follows the career of farm boy Roy Hobbs, a prodigious talent who is plucked from obscurity for the big leagues but a scandal derails his career. Many years later he returns from obscurity to fulfil his promise with the New York Knights. This is the first time Levinson’s Director’s Cut has been made available on Blu-ray. It also includes two documentaries and several unique supplementary materials.
Christopher Lee stars in The Gorgon, one of two Hammer Horror classics released on Blu-ray. Lee,in one of his great performances, plays a professor investigating the mystery surrounding the suicideof a young artist in a German town prone to strange events. People are being turned to stone by a monster whose lair is hidden within a foreboding castle.
The claustrophobic thriller Scream of Fear remains one of the underrated examples of Hammer atmosphere and hysteria from the early 1960s. Christopher Lee rated it as the best film Hammer ever made.
